Christians placed themselves in opposition to me for many mundane and original reasons. Certainly, I did not place myself in opposition to the Christians, at least not so vehemently until recent years and certainly not as a kid. Rather life with Christians formed an uneasy peace founded on ignoring and tolerating them when possible and trying to join their ranks at other times: actions never satisfying the desire for Christians to stop interfering with my life.

If you are like me, or like me before standing against Christian oppression, you readily relate with these experiences and concerns. I am not a philosopher or ex-evangelical preacher turned atheist but instead an average person struggling through life as a writer. I was born poor to a gambler father who ran off too early to be remembered and a psychopath mother who managed to remarry a more successful man who fitted better her sociopathic tendencies. I deem them pseudo-Christians, which clarifies later, and neither cared for me beyond freeing themselves of the son who never fit their Republican businessperson personas that melded with Christianity, and today, with Christian-Nationalism (all the same bullshit) aspirations built on self-interest. While suffering the pseudo-Christian parents, Christians, and other Christian diversity: bullies, bosses, etc., my fifty-one years slowly opened eyes to the Christian oppression weighting all Americans in varying degrees. (Except those Christians who benefit!)

I mention all this history because shitty Christians reading this and even many nonChristians still suffering indoctrination readily assume all critics of Christianity unjustly pick at the cross with bias. In the brilliant bias of the Christian-governed mind, all things critical of Christianity result from bad experiences and personal vendettas that grossly stereotype, thus magically exonerating Christianity with a blame-the-victim mentality. Often couched in philosophical discussions, this mindset takes on a tone of superiority fueled by the respect derived by academics, theists, and atheists debating faith in God with Christians, with not one argument holding a plausible solution or benefit for social issues—mostly caused by Christianity. I mention this bias to clarify the necessity for exposing Christian flaws and dangers in the harshest way to shatter the pervasive indoctrination.

This might surprise you. I love God as I conceive him/it to be. God=Life=Love is what I can understand as good and true when the world is working properly. The universe is far more complicated the more we know about it. It is far more confusing the better we understand that the language we possess to discuss the great mysteries is now and has always been and will no doubt forever be inadequate to the task of understanding all we’d like to understand about God and life and love.

There is nothing wrong with searching for a deeper understanding—there’s a lot wrong with imagining that you can grasp the will of God, whom you have imagined to be a big human-shaped being watching sparrows fall and counting all the hairs on your head. And there is even more wrong and terrible danger in assuming that you have it all figured out and that you know the secret formula for pleasing God, this imaginary reverse anthropomorphized being.

Our mission here, in Christian Pollution, is to poke holes in the damage being done by stupid, crazy, gullible, willfully ignorant people who do great harm to life by their certainty that their view and understanding is the right and THE only right way for us all to believe and thus to live.

God=Life=Love works for me and when I appreciate my life specifically and life fully and broadly, and when I let myself love life and love the mystery that makes life (God) I can live happily, joyfully, with humor and pathos, passion, and acceptance of things I don’t understand, and in recognition of the limits of words to provide all answers. And one final thought, the ethics of the person known to us as Jesus Christ are magnificent; the ability to pervert his message and example is astonishingly grotesque. Welcome to Christian Pollution where we work hard to clean-up the shit that stupid and cruel “followers” do in his name.

Our Objectives

This project evolved out of the Christian Pollution publication meant to focus criticism on Christianity as opposed to religion or theists since Christianity, the majority religion, presents the most relevant issues facing Americans.

Christianity infects Americans in a way that makes separating from the religion impossible. Because this ideology pollutes life, law, government, jobs, and culture, society becomes influenced such that many people unknowingly act in the interest of Christianity or live by the values. These individuals are pseudo-Christians who may not identify as Christian or even believe in God. They are often Republicans and conservatives, thinking themselves wise businessmen but are self-serving individuals willing to vote against any form of social assistance just to make a dollar in the short term. They are also the Trumpers rapaciously devouring social media, spewing racist diatribes and conspiracy. They don’t trust the government, but they trust the Christians despite being the people least likely to help them.

They are all pseudo-Christians, unknowingly having drunk the Christian kool-aid!

With the rise of right-wing Christianity that has all but completely contaminated the Republican party, a clear danger arises from what many perceive as an evangelical issue. This view is propaganda since approximately half of the mainstream Christian sects supported Trump and Christian Nationalism. A serious problem exists in the United States, threatening to replace democracy with theocracy, and that problem is Christianity.

Plausibility v. Possibility

Driving a car blindfolded at top speed along a busy highway holds the possibility of survival. Every day, Christianity demands billions of people blindly race through life toward outcomes. The reason people obey this demand stems from Christian misuse of philosophy that deceives believers with a logic that presents possibility as plausibility.

Philosophy holds many purposes, and perhaps most importantly, the means of discerning solutions to real-world problems. In Isaiah Berlin’s Concepts and Categories discussion “The Purpose of Philosophy,” he states, “it seems clear that subjects or fields of study are determined by the kind of questions to which they have been invented to provide the answers.”1 Berlin describes this inquiry as coherent for knowing “where” to seek answers. One would not learn to build an airplane by looking at a rock or, as Berlin states, “In other words, we know where to look for the answer: we know what makes some answers plausible and others not.”2

This point concerning philosophy cannot be over-emphasized! If you want to understand compounds and solvents, you study chemistry. If you want to understand politics, you study political science. By researching or learning these topics, we answer questions most plausibly, not possibly. Christian misuse of philosophy presents a belief in God and, by extension, the bible and Christianity as a plausible notion rather than its true nature of possibility.

You see this misrepresentation clearly in ontological and cosmological arguments such as intelligent design used by many Christians wrongly and deceptively as plausible evidence. Like the Church forced scientists to subscribe to an earth-centric universe, forcing believers to use a thought framework filled with erroneous ideas; no matter how rationally correct, they are wrong or arrived at correctly via luck. In the Christian worldview, actions, behaviors, and thoughts form on the foundation of possibility making everything conform to the Christian worldview: that when examined for efficacy and benefit to society, it should provide since this is the underlying all-important ideology driving the universe, Christianity not only fails to solve problems but actually creates many of the most pressing social issues.

Consider for a moment LGBTQ marriage equality. The entire argument against allowing marriage in this diverse group in the United States stems directly from Christian binary views of gender and sexuality and their wish to foist these views on LGBTQ persons. There is no biological, public health, or substantive concern beyond the Christian desire to enforce their beliefs.

Gay marriage, sex education, contraception, abortion, and many, many more issues root not in socioeconomic concerns (clearly shown by the fact that contraception reduces unwanted pregnancy) but in Christianity’s oppressive nature that enforces values through law and policy.

Considering these issues concerning Christianity, the implausibility of Christianity becomes apparent as Christian values, like banning contraception, factually place women at higher risk of unwanted pregnancies they must now carry to term in many states. Operating on the possibility that Christianity is true, millions of people incur risk, lose rights such as marriage and bodily autonomy, and experience many other detrimental impacts, thus violating the purpose of philosophy to solve problems by deceiving believers with false axioms.

Christianity is dishonest.

The only way to get people to buy into Christianity is to indoctrinate them (preferably from birth) and misuse philosophy’s critical thinking to misrepresent Christianity’s possibility as equally plausible and beneficial (otherwise, why believe it?) On these grounds, we reject Christianity and expose its implausibility, dishonesty, and complete lack of benefit.

An Alternative to Christian Nonsense About Death & Dying

Not to make light of love and loss, BUT . . .

Remembering my Christian upbringing based in fear and terror for the well-being of my masturbating immortal, imperiled soul — I keep reverting back to this memory. As adults it’s necessary for us to put away the childish bullshit that comforted us then and look for what really matters now.

Part 1. Sylvester and Bill

Our friend Billy’s elderly cat, Sylvester, is dying. Kidney disease. And it looks like he’ll be put down this afternoon.

Cat’s get old and die, of course: as do dogs, and people, and everything except God who may or may not even exist.

But this cat and his friend Billy and their love most assuredly exist, no doubt about it. And if you are reading this, you exist. And if you understand this, you understand love also.

In fact, come to think of it, even if you aren’t reading this you exist, as do I and as does everyone else who is alive now and soon or eventually will be dead like Sylvester the cat is soon going to be. And like all of us will be sooner or later.

Sylvester, so greatly loved, beloved just as all of us hope we are or wish we could be, or may one day realize, to our great sadness that we never have been which would make our situation even worse than poor old Sylvester’s who is going to die today.

The above was sent to Billy as a poem, the lines carefully, or maybe not so much carefully as intuitively broken at what felt like the right places.

Part 2 Sylvester and Billy and Me, a few days later:

And then Sylvester was no more, except in memories of being loved.

So, I sent my friend Billy my poem about his cat and his relationship and grief.

I worried that I might have stepped across a boundary of respect or privacy or some other line I shouldn’t have crossed. Sylvester and Billy were, after all, like an elderly married couple; what does one say to the survivor left after that kind of loss?

But then Billy sent back this message:

“Just read Sylvester’s poem. How lucky he was to have a friend as good as you. He rests so much easier now. And I do too.Thanks, Terry Trueman.”

In my opinion, moments don’t get any better than this for poets or friends or any other human beings or cats or every other kind of dying things.

And herein lies the catch to eternal life; there isn’t any outside of the love we get and the love we give during our all-too-brief time here. The best we can do is to laugh our asses off at the absurd joy possible in even the saddest moments, knowing that love is all that matters.

Billy knows it.

Sylvester knew it.

Arguing the existence of God is meaningless since no single person’s faith amounts to serious social issues. One might be inclined to believe that religion is the problem, but this is also a generalization: another argument trap that wastes time because the discussion becomes too broad-based to have any significance. Ultimately, most arguments concerning religion or faith need to realign to a specific religion, such as in the US, where we suffer Christianity.

Cartels employ many people who are not evil or actively involved in the drug trade, many not knowing they work for a Cartel.

The FBI defines cartels as “large, highly sophisticated organizations composed of multiple [drug trafficking organizations] DTOs and cells with specific assignments such as drug transportation, security/enforcement, or money laundering.”1 Similarly, large Christian denominations form cartels with many organizations that work just like the “DTOs that are either a part of or in an alliance with the cartel.”2
