Loathing adages lacking critical thought sometimes dissipates in agreement with their wisdom, such as the cure being worse than the disease. The hackneyed saying becomes a profound irony upon learning AA cures nothing. Every day, people attend AA believing they treat alcoholism and instead receive a booze-centered, brandless Christian catechism. No matter how passionately AAs swear they are a spiritual program, their practices and literature clearly show they are just another Christian sect, arguably a cult: meaningless terms serving to confuse more than clarify. Regardless, AA is Christian cult or sect, albeit one of the strangest derivations, denoted by many shared behaviors and attitudes.
