It’s the next Tuesday afternoon and I’ve been trying to write my Dad a letter back, trying and failing for about two hours. Our house phone rings and I grab it. This phone call is an interruption I’ll gladly take to get me out of thinking any more about my letter.
I say, “Hello.”
“Alan Mender, please.”
I say, “This is Alan.”
The lady on the other end says, “This is Barbara Keane, Community Colleges of Spokane. Spokane River campus.”
