Because there are no identical situations?

This piece is inspired by an online story “Woman buoyed by support after viral pastor confrontation” and the confusion felt with the #metoo movement.1

Looking back at my own conduct during and reading the above story is disturbing to me. The now 43-year-old “Christian parishioner” confronting her now 65-year-old pastor for his sexual conduct towards/with/and upon her decades ago, got me thinking again about the power dynamics at play in it all. Reading the story, it’s hard to escape the suggestion that the woman was harmed and in an unfair, unjustifiable manner.
