Our recent Christian Pollution newsletter discussed the risk of the January 6th Hearings turning Mike Pence into a hero, and without surprise, this outcome has already begun actualizing.1 CNN reported that with Pence and Trump possibly running in the 2024 presidential election reveals Pence “trying to embody” the message “that the GOP should look to the future.”2 Yet Trump’s message is in no danger of being questioned by his supporters or Republican candidates.

How quickly Christians forget Mike Pence was a faithful sycophant until he failed the Hitler wannabe by performing his job and not breaking the law by blocking the counting of votes. For sure, the Christian-dominated GOP proves skilled at politicizing and propagandizing, evidenced by Democrats falling into the trap of parading and heroizing Republicans during the Jan 6th Hearings. The hearings for sure reflect that the Christian-dominated GOP found their leader in Trump, though undesired by many in 2016. Trump solidified their aspirations to Nationalize Christianity just as Britannica describes Hitler unifying the Nazis and adding “to Pan-Germanic aspirations the almost mystical fanaticism of a faith in the mission of the German race and the fervor of a social revolutionary gospel.”3
