In The Christian World of Possibilities — Everything Christian is True!
Answering Christians Properly
Comment by Reader
So it’s possible that all who say they lay hands on the sick and they say they heard Jesus speak to them are liars.
Never seen such a bold faced preposterous assumption before.
Has the author asked people if these claims were true or if there’s anyone healed of such before?
What exactly is the writer trying to prove? ~Ademola
Dear Ademola,
Much like the lesson a different Christian taught me, your words nearly caused me to blurt, “What kind of an imbecilic Christian argues that Christians are not liars by claiming that not all of them are lying?”
Sadly, I nearly answered myself, “All of them are liars!”
Worse yet, I almost ranted,
Yes, Ademola, all of those Christians are liars because there is no such thing as laying hands, spiritual healing, or Jesus to speak to them.
Only in the convoluted mind of the Christian, as you evidenced for all to see by your claim that the possibility of everyone lying is “preposterous” and by simply asking those who make these outlandish claims, surely some of them must be telling the truth, and therefore, Jesus and Christianity must be real! Bravo on your stupendous feat of logic!
Even worse, I quite nearly answered your question, “What exactly is the writer trying to prove?” I almost stated, with all the sarcasm I could muster,
Well, Ademola, I just proved that Christians are not only liars but completely insane since they cannot prove anything they say and demand that everyone else believe and live by their crazy, implausible fiction based on nothing more than their word.
Thankfully, I did not say these things and realized you guided me to the truth about Christianity and Jesus. How could I overlook the healing power of Christ, despite his total reluctance to talk to me or anyone I know. Once again, the dragon of possibility has scorched my willfulness into submission.
How dare I doubt the Christians’ word when clearly there is the possibility that Jesus is talking to one of them somewhere in the world, probably at night, when everyone else is asleep, and whispering so as not to scare the person or to wake anyone else.
How dare I doubt the Christians’ word when they never reveal themselves as liars by misstating philosophic ontological arguments as plausible notions that absolutely prove the existence of God.
How dare I doubt the Christians’ honor when they never underhandedly sought to misinform their own believers about education, science, healthcare, and a gazillion other social issues to force people to obey their religion.
Clearly, Ademola, I have been the fool in this situation, and now I pray for Jesus to forgive me. Thank you.
